What is One Piece?
Wealth. Fame. Power. There was a man who had sailed the world to discover everything there was to be offered throughout the countless islands separated by the Grand Line and the Red-Line.... The Pirate King -- Gol D. Roger. Before he was executed at the hands of the Marines, his last words spoke of the great treasure he left behind, the One Piece. Hundreds of thousands of eager pirates set sail, the desire to claim it for themselves had opened the curtain on a new, Grand Era of Piracy.
Though many met their end in these unforgiving waters, others would see their names enter the realm of infamy. Many Kingdoms throughout the islands and Marine forces of the World Government stood against them in opposition, but this too led to the recognition of the strongest pirates around as the Supernovas, Warlords and Emperors of the Sea.
Among the many newcomer pirates, nicknamed the Worst Generation, Strawhat Luffy and his crew would go on to turn the world upside down in pursuit of the One Piece, and all the secrets it held of the world's unspoken history.

Grand Crew:
Current Storyline
It's been Four Years since the declaration of Monkey D. Luffy as the new Pirate King was heard world wide. Since then, in the wake of this news and the havoc they wrought on the world, a new generation of Pirates have taken to the seas in search of realizing their Dreams. In this new era brought on by the Straw Hat Pirates, many things have changed, including the destruction of part of the Red Line. Elsewhere, the systems of the World Government, Marines and Nobles still persist in the new age as shadow of their former self. Don't let that fool you however, they are a force to be reckoned with still as they wish to rein in unruly, independent islands to bring them to justice.

As for the Straw Hats? They themselves seemingly have disappeared -- whether they have died or retired after achieving their respective dreams is currently unknown but for now, the seas belong to the New Generation.

The Man-Made Islands
Many secrets about the world and it's history were brought to light when the One Piece was claimed by Straw Hat Luffy. And yet many more remained to be uncovered about the events that transpired during the void century -- a period of history wiped out by those in power.
Out in the New World, an island was garnering attention of pirates near and far -- including that of your crew. Rumor had it that this particular island was a remnant of Void Century events, and if they were correct, may contain secrets to a technology to rival the ancient weapons. Due to the sheer mass of Pirates and Marine attention that was fixated on this island, an unsteady truce was called in the interest of furthering the discovery of the secrets held here.
It was on this basis that an Underworld dealer and known pirate, Bartholomew Spring would go on and announce the GRAND CREW - PIRATE FESTIVAL on Icarous Island. Although it was in self-interest, everyone agreed they would work to uncover the secrets of this island. The spoils however, would go to those strong and ruthless enough to claim them for themselves.
A Void-Century Message:
Upon first discovering Icarous Island, Bartolomew Spring stumbled upon a once in a lifetime find that didn't exist anywhere else in the world, not even discovered by the past or present Pirate King...

A Black Poneglyph

After searching far and wide, he was able to find a translator for the following message, one that transcended time and the forgotten history of the Void Century:
To whoever finds this,
I am... Sealed away… Icarous island, a location that I’ve carved out from Seastone and dirt is a mechanism of my own invention, one.. if.. free can destroy anything in its sight, perhaps it can even blot out the accursed sun... I have left the keys… find them. If even one of these burning wings were ever allowed… I wait… to see if… any creature alive that can… wake what's within.
