What Are Devil Fruits?
Devil Fruits are mysterious, distinctive fruits scattered throughout the world, known for permanently granting those who eat them superhuman powers at the price of being cursed with the permanent inability to swim and a weakness to sea water. With only one notable exception, an individual can only acquire the powers of a single Devil Fruit and survive.
Each Devil Fruit grants a special power to anyone who eats it; These can range from the simplest powers possible to those capable of causing large-scale destruction. As rare as they come, there is no bad or good Devil Fruit, only the individuals that make their names known by using them to their fullest potential!
DEVIL FRUIT USERS
If your Pirate is a Devil Fruit User, or if you're curious about the option when creating your character, please keep a few things in mind when applying to join Grand Crew:

Devil Fruits and their capabilities must be approved before you're able to join with them, in order to provide a fair RP experience for everyone. Keep in mind what restrictions or limits your DF requires to work.

Not every DF is inherently used offensively at first glance, but don't be afraid to use an unique ability in unorthodox ways!​

Devil Fruit are usually named using two-syllable Japanese Onomatopoeia, and one or two-syllable English nouns. (i.e: Hie-Hie no Mi // Ice-Ice Fruit ) Please keep that in mind when naming your original Devil Fruit.

Keep in mind that there are many counters in the world to Devil Fruit users, from using Haki, exploiting an ability's Natural Weaknesses or even using Sea-Stone as a weapon to neutralize a DF User's abilities.
- ​No single Devil Fruit will make your Pirate invincible, remember that. Likewise no single opponent you face is invincible because of their Devil Fruit. Our Moderators and the Stats system are here to make sure your RP experience is a balanced and fair experience.​
- We don't allow DF that automatically negate their only weakness, such as a "Water-Water Fruit".

Devil Fruit Claims during our joining period is on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis.

Claimed Devil Fruit will only go to Candidates can that submit their accepted and completed Character Application before another candidate does. If another Candidate is accepted and able to claim the DF before you, you will be asked to revise your choice.

​Upon a member leaving the group, or if they exchange their Pirate with another OC then their chosen Devil Fruit will then become available.

Some original Fruits have been created ahead of time for NPCs you'll encounter throughout your journey in the Grand Crew, but this doesn't mean they aren't available to you. If your idea does match one of these DF we've reserved, let us know.

Some rarer Devil Fruits -- such as powerful Ancient and Mythical Zoan fruits -- may be restricted or unavailable to claim as your own during the joining period.

​Please reach out to the Mods if you're interested in a rare fruit like this.
Even if you may not be allowed to join with it, we may recommend that you still consider joining without a Devil Fruit for the time being -- future events may involve earning or competing for a chance to win one of these powerful DF for yourself and the glory that follows.

ABOUT DEVIL FRUITS

There are three known types of Devil Fruit, yours must fall under one of the listed categories:

Zoans - These allow the user to partially or fully transform into another creature, animal or mythical being and inherit their physical abilities. Zoans usually boast high endurance and stamina related to their Zoan base.

Logia - These allow the user to manipulate and even transform into a natural or even artificial element. Smoke, Light, Fire, and even Candy Syrup. This effectively grants them some invulnerability and the ability to reform their bodies if blown away or cut apart by normal attacks.

Paramecia - Being a catch-all for abilities outside Zoans and Logia, Paramecia often allow the user to alter and manipulate themselves, their surroundings or other people in many unique ways. The wide range of utility they present are sometimes limited in the conditions they require, however.

Only one type of DF can only ever exist at a time, including known DF of Canon Characters in One Piece, we do not allow duplicate powers of known living DF users.

For reference on availability, check the Crew Database (available once you join the discord server) for the list of currently claimed DF.​

DF that have appeared in non-canon material such as the One Piece films may be available for use, inquire with the Mods first and reference our list of non-canon fruits in the Database.

Superior and Inferior versions of known DF can coexist; The Mera-Mera no Mi creates Fire, but the Magu-Magu no Mi can create Magma that burns hotter. Consider this if you want to have a DF that's similar to another member's.

ABOUT SMILE / ARTIFICIAL FRUITS

Artificial Devil Fruits are man-made fruits designed to give consumers special powers like a natural Devil Fruit would. SMILE fruits are lower quality artificial fruits that offer a partial Zoan transformation, but also carry the risk of offering no powers at all for the same weakness to the sea.

While we accept SMILE Fruit being used by your Pirate, Artificial replicas of known Devil Fruit are currently not allowed to claim.​​​​​

WEAKNESS TO WATER

Upon consuming a Devil Fruit all users inherit the same curse that renders them weakened or even unable to move when in contact with the sea or sea-stone (a material that radiates the sea's energies).
Though it does vary according to the User's physical strength and resolve, and how submerged in water they become, this is something all Pirates with Devil Fruits need to be wary of. Be careful not to sink like a stone into the depths before your adventure begins!

Upon being submerged in Sea-Water or attacked by Sea Stone weaponry, you may be prompted to attempt and resist its affects.

Failing to do so may result in receiving a DEBUFF, or incapacitate you entirely during a combat encounter!​

AWAKENING DEVIL FRUITS​

Awakening is an extremely rare act that unlocks a Devil Fruit user's full potential and power only when its user has met the mental and physical conditions necessary to wield it.
As far as we are aware....All Devil Fruit can be awakened, though it manifests in different forms. Some users can convert their surroundings into things they can control, some may unlock further abilities, and some rarer still may reveal the true forms of their power.

We do not allow members joining to have their DF fully awakened right away, your growth and path to awakening will be reached by completing bounties and RP events in the group to increase your STATS.​
