"Why is every part of the Joining process -including the Constructive Feedback or Rejection- made public for everyone?"
-
There's no such things as dumb questions or wasting our time when it comes to making your voices heard. This group is for you just as much as the Mods running it. That being said, we’ve seen concerns how decisions have been handled publicly before; Whether it’s regarding those interested in joining with a character concept we have to turn down or similar actions taken by Mods that one may view as embarrassing on someone’s behalf.
It’s our interest, and obligation to you as Mods to be 100% transparent why we may accept or deny any character concepts, ideas, or more throughout the journey of this group. The mod team consists of people with different experience both as One Piece fans, and group moderators – so we rely on each other to collaborate our decisions. No one person decides everything, and we are always sure to come to a consensus or at least a general understanding together on how we moderate before doing so.
-
They may not always be the popular decisions, but they are public for both the benefit of being a point of referral in the future and to allow you to see our reasoning as well. We don’t push or enforce anything on our members just “because we say so”. Everyone is entitled to their opinions with our choices, just as much as we believe you’re entitled to see how we moderate and come to those conclusions
-
Remember that we always welcome and want to know your feedback, whether that is in the #Ideas-and-Feedback channels or other appropriate channels.

"I've already joined, but I recently updated my OC's application. What do I do now?"
-
What we require when updating your OC will vary between updating either the Written and Art Applications. Here’s a brief rundown:
-
ART: For updates such as a character’s outfit changes or corrections to text please resubmit your OC’s art in both the #crew-intros and #join-requests channels in our Discord server, this will ensure that we have the most up to date reference of your OC on hand to link to the database.
-
WRITTEN: Changing portions of your written, such as adding more details to a biography, or updating their personality/position to include reflections on RP or group events, needs an updated post in your #app-checks thread on discord with the changes mentioned.
-
WRITTEN: Changing Abilities or updating Combat Styles are more complicated. We will be adding new consumable items in the Shop that can be used to officially update those portions on your Written app.
They must be changed upon purchase of the items, so have your requested ability ready when you pay for the item in the Shop. Reverting back to the previous ability requires the same process and purchasing the item a 2nd time.
-
-
-
"That information for my OC on the database is incorrect! How do I get this corrected?"
-
We will do our best to ensure that information represented on the group database reflects what has been entered in both your written and art applications that you provide us. However we are not perfect and mistakes can happen. If this is not the case, or it is incorrect for any reason please reach out in the #database-corrections channel of our Discord Server to have it updated.
-
-
"Do I HAVE to use the Art/Written templates to apply to join?"
-
Yes, to both ensure everyone's entries are consistent when it comes to their legibility and for ease of the approval process by Mods, we ask that you use the provided templates for your Pirate application. You are free to take creative liberties with the look of said templates however!
-
-
"I want to join but I can't draw! Can I still join?"
-
Technically, yes. Grand Crew: WOTW is a Campaign best experienced when you have the means to both write and depict your character's journey, however we do accept the use of art from Commissioned artists, or an acceptable Picrew Character Creators to represent your OC. Completing and submitting our Art Application is the minimum requirement of art needed to join
Though we do largely accept all levels of artists to come and join us, (as long as the images provided are clear and legible) if you are unable to draw, be aware that there are several opportunities to gain rewards or upgrades that are only available to artists to claim through their artworks you will miss out on.
-
Acceptable Picrews: [LIST PENDING]
-
If you do commission an artist, you are required to credit them.
-
-
Any art that you’ve paid for or requested from an artist to complete Bounties or Art Challenges in your stead will also not be acceptable in exchange for rewards. Commissioned artwork of your OC can be shared in the #Art-Share or #Sharing-Chat channels, with the proper credit given to the actual artist.
-
Same ruling applies for any One Piece related art shared that belongs to people who are not members of this group.
-
-
Character Creation
-
"Can my character have been present during the One Piece story?"
-
You can reference, include and be part of canon story events in your Pirate's background, however we will not accept you including major interactions or relationships with the main One Piece cast.
-
If you're unsure that your backstory would be acceptable within this criteria, please reach out to us in #Character-Creation and let us know their full history. Refer to our Character Joining Guidelines for more.
-
For locations with specific history that makes it difficult to line up with One Piece Canon (i.e: Wano, Egghead, etc.) please reach out to us first.
-
-
-
"Can I play a mixed race pirate?"
-
Unfortunately no, at this current time you cannot mix and match major races from the world of One Piece for your OC, only one unique race will be allowed per character and characters that bear half-human lineage but are mixed with another unique race (such as Lunarians) will be counted as the unique race only in our Database.
We ask that for whatever race you choose, that it be represented fully in your character's design (though these features themselves can be covered up if you wish to appear more human). Take a look at our list of accepted races and let us know what you have in mind!
-
We do not allow something such as Minks having kids with Humans.
-
-
-
"Do I NEED a Devil Fruit? / Can I use a rare fruit?"
-
While Devil Fruits grant amazing power at great cost, they are NOT required in order to join! In fact, we encourage all types of characters; Martial Artists, Swordsmen, Marksmen and inventors of uncanny technology are just a few of your many options to play with as your character!
-
While we don't discourage the use of rare Mythical or Ancient Devil Fruits, the amount that we approve is limited. If your Devil Fruit idea uses any supernatural ability that's been attributed to or based off of the powers of a mythical being/creature from real world folklore, we will consider that being a request for a mythical fruit.
Likewise we still consider them Mythical/Ancient if your Zoan DF can turn into any mythical creature but has basic abilities. We will not deny it on that basis however, but just ask that you regard it as such while we work with you to make sure it can be approved or suggest alternative fruit ideas to obtain the same results.
-
Keep in mind that real world beliefs about the mythical creatures will apply as well, including commonly believed weaknesses.
-
-
-
"Can my character have a pet(s)?"
-
At this point in time, No. We will not be allowing OC's to have pets or other similar options, as these have been used to substitute a stand-in for a second OC by Crew.
-
-
"There's an important character in my OCs past that I want them to meet again! How can I make that happen?"
-
After the joining period is concluded, accepted Crew can earn rewards by role-playing, writing and drawing. One of the rewards is to redeem an NPC related to your character's story to feature in the Campaign. Should you redeem an NPC, they can be interacted with, and referred to throughout the Grand Crew storyline. However, just because they are an NPC does not mean they’re an exception to the approval process in the same manner we would approve your regular OCs.
-
Bear in mind! NPCs are exactly what the name suggests – Non-Player Characters – and if you successfully submit an approved NPC to the group, they will be under the Mod team’s responsibility to use them if they play a significant role in future group events.
-
Control won’t be completely taken from you, we need your input on what role you’d like them to play and how they’d respond in certain situations. Although the actual execution of those ideas will be done by Mods.

RP / Server Etiquette
RP / Server Etiquette
Even with the tagline of being the “Worst of the Worst”, the Grand Crew wants to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable and confident to play the characters they join with without fear of being singled out or harassed for whatever reason. Besides referring to our list for Sensitive Content, be mindful of ways to respect your fellow crew mates.
-
"Another member said my comments about their OC made them uncomfortable, what did I do?"
-
Although some in-character interactions may vary, avoid OOC (Out of Character) discussion/activity that feels like targeting a character for their looks, race, or disabilities that characters may possess. This can include:
-
Forced comparison of Characters to other series or anime with the purpose of crude or inappropriate references.
-
Consistently depicting another’s characters or referring to them in unflattering ways, if it’s been clear the recipient is uncomfortable with how their character is being portrayed.
-
Singling out characters based on their physical traits, including known disabilities or otherwise, as a means of othering, mocking or teasing them.
-
-
-
"Crew keep making suggestive/inappropriate posts about my OC, should I say something?"
-
Absolutely. Character shipping has not and never will be the focus of the Grand Crew. To inform/remind you, we are a story and narrative driven group, although we will not stop you from pursuing these relationships willingly. Without consent from both parties, repeatedly engaging other Crew Member’s characters solely for the purpose of seeking a romantic or sexual relationship between their OC and yours can be seen as harassment.
-
We know that hopeless-romantics like Sanji exist in the One Piece, and those who may seek to emulate that behavior in our group exist. But we ask that you respect the consent of your fellow Crew and what they wish to be exposed to, without fear of retaliation or expecting hostility in later interactions.
-
-
-
"I Received a warning from the mods for my behavior, why??"
-
Behavioral Strikes will often only be issues if we receive enough complaints regarding your behavior from several members, though single person cases may be investigated if obvious enough. If a mod advises you to drop a recurring topic, behavior or joke and it continues to happen, Strikes along with warnings will be issued and tracked.
-
-
"Why is the group 21+ when you don't focus on Sexual or Graphic Violent Content?"
-
Given that One Piece as a series has no direct focus on sexual content or overtly explicit content, neither do we. However ,we are a 21+ group because we expect a level of maturity from members. This means they should be conscious of their own behaviors, aware of how their actions can affect those around them and to a degree able to self-manage themselves as a member of a group of individuals from multiple backgrounds, experiences, and time-zones.
-
-
"There's another member of the Server that I do not like/get along with, what do I do?"
-
A simple fact of life is that not everyone will get along with each other. That is not something that can be helped or controlled, however we do expect all our Crew to hold yourselves accountable to our standard of etiquette regardless of how you feel.
If there are any issues we can expect from your relationship to another Crew member, clear communication provided to us ahead of time would be appreciated so we can shape your experience in the Campaign with this in mind.
-
This regards your interactions with the moderating team as well, we’re only human after all.
-
However, repeated messaging outside of server spaces, instances of ignoring directions or guidance given to avoid potential conflict, and unfounded arguments against those involved count as a behavior/policy strike just as much as they do when involving another regular member of the server.

Our Policy on AI
-
As publicly stated on our Twitter Page, this website and in the Member Agreement upon first joining the server, we do not allow or tolerate the posting and sharing of AI Generated works in Grand Crew: WOTW whatsoever. This includes but is not limited to:
-
AI “Artwork” - Use of AI to depict characters that are owned by yourself or others, generating backgrounds, or using it for any otherwise visual medium. This is considered unacceptable to share within our group, regardless of whether it’s submitted for fun or not.
-
AI Voice Clips / Music - Sharing YouTube clips/songs that sample a voice actor’s or musician’s work to recreate new lines using their voice, or to recreate music in an iconic character’s voice (i.e: Mickey Mouse Sings…. etc.)
-
AI Generated Writing - Use of AI prompts to create General Written Submissions or fulfill the aims of Bounties for Rewards will not be accepted if discovered. There are several AI detection tools freely available online to double-check submissions if needed.
-
-
We cannot overstate our No Tolerance policy enough. Regardless of if it is written or visual, attempting to use any AI Generated works to attempt to receive a reward for Bounty or General artwork submitted will result in an immediate BAN. Full stop
 -
WOTW is a group for creatives, by creatives to share our interest in the same fandom, no matter how deep your knowledge of One Piece goes. Additionally, the only ones with access to the art in the Crew Database are those of us in the server, so respect your fellow artists and their artwork that they choose to share with everyone, and keep it from falling into the hands of AI datasets!
-
If wary of this, we invite any of our members to protect their artwork how they see fit, including adding Watermarks or using anti-AI software like Nightshade, Glaze, etc.
-
The linking to artworks in the Database only serves as a way for the Mod Team to track completed works and Bounties, to ensure we’ve properly rewarded you.
-
There is no room and no excuse for using or promoting generative tools that steal from other artists in order to build their dataset. We understand if it is done unknowingly, but after any incident seen in the group, we ask that you be discerning of the content shared here.
